    CHAMPLAIN | police have launched a large police operation on Tuesday in the early evening, to Champlain, in Mauricie.

    According to information obtained by TVA Nouvelles, ambulances and police officers gather around the residence of Steve Soucy, a man who is the subject of an arrest warrant since it was not presented in court.

    Last November, the man had fled after having committed the assault alleged on his wife. Armed with an axe and a shotgun, he was spotted in a wooded area by a citizen who forwarded the information to the Sûreté du Québec.

    The suspect had hid out in a cottage which was in the scope identified by the police. He stayed there for three days before being found, suffering from hypothermia.

    TVA News was also revealed on Monday that the cost of the operation amounted to at least 27 879 $, that is$ 26,000 for the air surveillance and 1879 $ for travel expenses and additional hours of patrol.

    Steve Soucy was expected Monday at the courthouse of Trois-Rivières while he faces a series of charges in relation to these events, including breaking and entering, the volume Of new charges are added on Monday.
