Maka Kotto was elected as the candidate by acclamation to the Parti québécois in the riding of Bourget in view of the upcoming elections.
The member pq is used to represent this county since 2008. He was previously a member of parliament in Ottawa for the Bloc québécois.
Under Pauline Marois, Maka Kotto has held the post of minister of Culture and Communications. He is currently the chairman of the caucus of the official opposition.
The elect Carole Poirier and Stéphane Bergeron, the leader of the party Jean-François Lisée, were present at this meeting and investiture.
The pq should hold a similar event next week in Sherbrooke.
