Sport 27 January, 2017

The Universite Lyon 1 campus organized three matches of melty Basketball League on Thursday 26th January, in front of several hundred people. Here is the summary of these meetings!
The Lyon floor of the University Lyon 1 was heated at a university basketball celebration day . Two matches of melty Basketball Ligue Universitaire, supported by the Caisse d’Epargne, opened the basketball baskets for the boys (Lyon 3 VS Limoges at 15h, then Lyon 1 VS Nice-Sophia-Antipolis at 17h), before the teams Lyon 1 and Rouen did not finish the show. Abstracts, analyzes and special endorsements should be read below.
Limoges reverses Lyon 3 (69-72)
Lagging behind in the first half (35-23), the inhabitants of Limoges accelerated transmissions to disrupt the Rhone device . And it paid off. “Defensively, we have to stop losing duels (…) and behind one strong recovery” , advised the coach should Viennese Florent Chabasse at halftime, well listened to by his players throughout the last 20 minutes. Lyon 1 lost to the shoot in the beginning of the last quarter, the moment chosen by Limoges to chain on a +4 (53-48 at eight minutes of the term). And for the first time of the encounter, the visitors passed to the mark, well helped by losses of balls unusual among the Lyonnais. A short advantage, but enough.
Our specials:
Leo Peynaud (22 pts, Limoges) : Best scorer of the game, he participated in all the highlights of his team. And it is even he who of a careful lay up gave the advantage to Limoges in the middle of the last quarter. A full match.
Digue Diawara (13 pts, Lyon 3) : He managed three of five three-point shots of his team, and is also illustrated in defense with several rebounds. Very complete, he also created several mismatch.
Lyon 1 sinks Nice (101-67)
After a disastrous game start (12-2 in five minutes), Nice made a strong recovery, thanks to ultra fast pitch their leader Thibault lifts Arrieta . But the slight seven-point delay that needed to be filled in the second half (44-37) gained a lot of weight in the 3rd quarter (only 10 points scored by the Azureans compared to 29 for the locals). Hard, especially when you take a +9 on a handful of possessions. Forced to slam long distance shoots to take back the score, Didier Chouvy’s players have blurred their gambling product and exposed themselves to murderous countermeasures. Result? An insurmountable gap.
Our specials:
Lucas Hergott (18 pts, Lyon 1): Always in the right tempo, he was able to redirect the play when the racket was totally closed. His efficient drives and mid-distance shoots allowed him to approach the 20 points.
Thibault Arrieta (10 pts, Nice): Get rid of three consecutive players seems to be a breeze when the leader takes the ball. Tirelessly in the search for construction and exteriors, the Niçois has sneaked many times into the Lyons defense.
Lyon 1 in the management against Rouen (78-49)
When success is missing, we can not expect much . This is certainly the observation that Franck Maignan, the coach of the girls of Rouen, had to draw, after the defeat of his team on the floor of the Rhodaniennes. Rarely creative actions in the inner zone, the teammates Camille Vezin were pushed to try the shoot. A discipline in which the Rouen women did not really shine, unlike their opponents of the evening. In the third quarter, at a time of the match where the mistakes the inaccuracies multiplied, it is the Lyonnaises who better managed their times of possession.
Our specials:
Coline Couve (16 pts, Lyon 1): Every time he had to stay on course and advance to the brand, Coline was present. Even after leaving the bench, she knew how to remain lucid on the offensive phases.
Mathilde Ponsar (18 pts, Rouen): With his post-up, she cleaned up the racket. She also did in shooting efficiency, scoring more than 30% of her team’s points.
