Montreal submits its application for the world Cup

The City of Montreal has officially filed his candidacy as host city for the soccer world Cup of 2026. It is this that has informed mayor Denis Coderre Tuesday morning.

 

This announcement within the framework of a project without precedent in the history of FIFA, while three countries, Canada, the United States and Mexico, revealed last July that they would submit a joint bid.

 

The mayor of Montreal had received a letter from Soccer Canada, stating that Montreal was among the cities invited to participate in the nomination process canadian cities-hostesses.

A record number of 48 nations will participate in the world Cup, the FIFA 2026 and will compete in 80 matches over a period of 30 days. The majority of the matches are planned on u.s. soil.
