The husband ultra controlling who has killed his wife because he believed she was cheating on her wants to be declared not criminally responsible, has announced her lawyer on Tuesday.
“The irreparable act has been committed, it is Ahmad Nehme who has caused the death of Catherine de Boucherville, has explained to Me Giuseppe Battista of the defence. But his state of mind is the determining factor, for us the challenge is there. At the time of the tragedy, it does not distinguish between good and evil.”
Ahmad Nehme, 53 years old, began his testimony by explaining to be born in Lebanon to a family of five boys. He then moved to Canada in 1988. Four years later, he met his future wife, Catherine De Boucherville, the same that he was killed in July 2012 after 19 years of marriage.
But all these years are not spent in the calm, according to the couple’s daughter, who was in the unit at the time of the tragedy. Nehme was a man controlling who did not hesitate to unload his anger on Mrs. Boucherville, testified Dania Nehme during the trial.
“It was like hell on earth,” had said the young woman.
Ahmad Nehme was a man controlling it. The victim had abandoned his career as a translator after having met him. She did not come virtually not and was not working, except in the trade of electronic from her husband. And again, it was not paid, according to Dania Nehme.
The testimony of Ahmad Nehme continues, at the palais de justice of Montreal. At the beginning of the trial, the accused pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.
