A film crew from Blast Films, a company based in London, will land in Quebec city in September next. She wants to film a documentary-like drama in which we will tell the story of the murderer.
The team could also go in the Montérégie region, the region of origin of Lyne Massicotte, there to meet his family.
This series will cover stories of encounters on the internet that have turned out badly. It needs to be broadcast next year in the United Kingdom.
For the moment, Blast Films, which produces shows for the BBC and for Channel 4, did not want to give more details about the scenario of this episode.
Lyne Massicotte had been reported missing in July 2003, following a visit to Quebec, at the home of Alain Perreault, with whom she had come in contact through the internet. The woman has never been found.
Six years later, Perreault has been trapped in the “Mister Big” by double agents who had extracted a confession by pretending to be the leaders of a criminal gang. Perreault had then described how Lyne Massicotte was dead and how he had got rid of his body.
Alain Perreault was convicted of the murder in September last, at the end of a second trial. The murderer disagrees with the verdict and wants to bring his appeal.
