NASA showed “dairy vortices” in the Caspian sea
The wind on the surface mixes the water and lifts from the bottom sediments, which gives the coastal part of the sea a milky appearance. However, scientists do not understand the nature of this phenomenon.

NASA published a photograph of the abnormal process in the Caspian sea called “milky swirl”. The picture was taken on the ninth of January, the MODIS Terra spacecraft passes Rus.Media.

The wind on the surface mixes the water and lifts from the bottom sediments, which gives the coastal part of the sea milky, the report says.

Scientists are unsure of the nature of this phenomenon and predict a negative impact on the fisheries.

In NASA noted that the analysis of satellite images is a key technique in monitoring of the Caspian sea.
