    Two years after the police officer Thierry LeRoux has died in the line of duty in Lac-Simon, his brother is preparing an event for cycling, linking the École nationale de police du Quebec in Lac-Simon.

    A symbolic route for Steffan LeRoux as “the school of Nicolet, it is the biggest dream of my little brother and the Lac-Simon, this is where it all ended for him,” he explained. This last hope that the journey of 630 km would be able to gather a dozen people, on August 24, 2019.

    “We finish our race four days later in Lac-Simon. We hope to gather at the community center of Lac-Simon, but all that remains to watch with the band council”, added mr. LeRoux.

    The objective of this event at large-scale is to raise donations for the Foundation Thierry LeRoux, while allowing him to make himself known. Through this foundation, the members of the board of directors, which are composed of nine former colleagues, hoping to improve the quality of life of young people from 4 to 25 years of the MRC of the Vallée-de-l’or and Lac-Simon.

    “The amount does not matter. I want to get out the Foundation of Val-d’or and bring it to a provincial level”, he said.
