THURSO | A man traveling on a motocross has had the bad idea of trying to flee police Monday evening, at Thurso, in Outaouais.
The events began when police officers of the Sûreté du Québec have attempted to intercept the driver of the motocross to a violation of the code of road safety, on the road 317.
When the police officers who were travelling in the opposite direction made u-turn to intercept, the motorcyclist refused to stop.
A pursuit was then initiated.
A few kilometres further on, the approach to the village, the police have decided to give up the man hunt for safety.
The grid search performed in the sector has, however, led to the discovery of the marks on the ground leading to a wooded area.
The police then found the suspect hiding in the woods, along with his motocross.
The 23 year old male was arrested and transported to the hospital to treat a leg injury.
He appeared Tuesday in Gatineau, under charges of dangerous driving, flight and non-compliance of commitment.
He was also issued several traffic tickets, including one for driving without a valid driver’s license.
