OTTAWA, The Trudeau government on Tuesday launched the first phase of the program, youth Services Canada, which aims to offer young people opportunities to get involved in their community.
In a first time, the federal government will lead on the new web site of the service a consultation with young people in order to know their expectations, their interests and their motivations.
The initiative was launched by the prime minister Justin Trudeau, who also serves as the Youth minister of his government. “Young people should have more opportunities to be of service to their community, while gaining skills and valuable experience. It is the purpose of youth Service Canada”,-he said in a press release.
Futures, youth Services Canada will enable young people to find volunteering opportunities and help citizens and organizations to fund projects at the national, regional and local.
Amounts ranging from $ 250, $ 750 or $ 1,500 will be particularly provided to about 4000 young people, through a partnership with the organization TakingITGlobal.
The program, youth Services Canada will not be fully operational in 2019. It will have a budget of $ 105 million until march 2021.
