“It has not been confirmed yet. […] When he has made his announcement, if it is, we’ll see about that”, he simply commented on it from China, where he led an economic mission.

The president of Quebecor and a former leader of the Parti québécois had said the day before at the microphone of Radio-Canada that it does not rule out a political comeback. He said to be currently “in reserve”of the republic.

If he did not want to comment on the possible return of his former political opponent, Philippe Couillard points out that Pierre Karl Péladeau remains the controlling shareholder of a major publishing group.

“This is not a coincidence that the boss of the organisation of media that is most prevalent in Quebec is also a political opponent said, or of a partisan political active, he said. There are not many examples like that. I think it raises issues and it is up to the company to discuss it and him, also, to discuss it.”

“The combined role of an owner of a press group and a political actor and active supporter… there is something very sensitive. Not just with us, it would be everywhere in the world,” he added.

Pierre Karl Péladeau can be satisfied with a supporting role alongside the leader of the PQ, Jean-François Lisée ? “I think that the Parti québécois will have his hands full,”-he dropped, without explaining his thinking.
