LAVAL – The official opening next to the Place Bell is likely to create parking problems in the city centre of Laval, denounced a training of the opposition.

The Party Laval-Team Michel Trottier is feared that the opening of the Place Bell scheduled for 1 September next will have repercussions for the residents of the area. It pointed out that the new hall has a capacity of 15 000 people, including the staff, “while the reserved parking for the amphitheater offers only 700 parking spaces”.

“The citizens of the area fear that the poor forecasting of the parking lot of the Place Bell encourages visitors to park for free in residential areas and worsens the problem. Political action has to be asked”, stated the councillor for Laval-des-Rapides, Pierre Anthian.

According to the training policy, the parking lots of shopping malls nearby are already heavily used in the evenings and on the weekends.

“The site of the Place Bell has been badly chosen, and we need to combine today with an error of judgment. In total, Laval residents will have paid out more than $ 122 million to build Place Bell, will have to pay to park and the City will pay to take advantage of the ice-public”, added Michel Trottier, candidate for mayor and councillor for Fabreville.
