POINTE-CLAIRE – A woman of 47-year-old succumbed to his injuries Friday evening a few hours after having been hit by a car at the corner of Brunswick blvd and avenue Fairview Pointe-Claire.
The accident occurred while the woman was crossing the street. At the time of the impact, she was flung to the ground and was unconscious on arrival of first aid, said the police Department of the City of Montreal, adding that she was in a critical condition when she was transported to a hospital.
The driver of the vehicle, a 74 year old man, was treated at the scene for a slight nervous shock and was met by investigators to give his version of the facts. According to initial information available, it would not have committed an offence, according to the SPVM, given that”he was facing a green light”.
The man “could not preview or would not have been able to avoid the pedestrian,” added the POLICE.
The accident occurred a little after 19 h.
