Poland will erect a fence on the border with Russia, Ukraine and Belarus : In the World : Vladim

In Warsaw, the deputies will consider the proposal of constructing fence of the zinc mesh with a length of 1.2 kilometers on the border with Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Thus in Poland are going to fight African swine fever (ASF).

At the moment, one of the main ways to counter this disease is a wall on the border with neighboring States. According to scientists, it is naive to rely on the effectiveness of such measures. In Poland already recorded cases of the acquisition of ASF, it means to build the fence does not make sense. In Warsaw I propose to erect a two-meter fence made of zinc mesh. The establishment of one kilometers of the wall will cost Poland in 32 thousand dollars.

Officially, the country recorded 1.5 thousand pigs suffering from ASF. Scientists urge leaders to abandon the construction of the walls, as this will negatively affect the animal population and instead, the positive consequences will result to negative.
