SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, A truck driver who refused to stop for weighing road has finally been arrested in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, at the end of a chase, Thursday night.
It all started around 20: 30, when the truck driver failed to stop his vehicle to weighing road on the interstate 15, said Joyce Kemp, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec. The road traffic controllers have attempted to intercept him, but he continued on his way.
The police officers of the Sûreté du Québec and of the police of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu were then called.
The driver was finally arrested in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu to leak, dangerous driving and hit-and-run, pointed out the spokesperson. Three carpets of nails had to be made by the police.
During his journey, the truck driver was struck by a autopatrouille as well as the vehicle of a lady. An investigation has been opened by the SQ.
