LAVAL | A driver could face several charges after being arrested Saturday morning in Laval at the end of a police chase that began in Saint-Esprit, in Lanaudière.

It all began shortly after 9 a.m., when police officers of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) saw a sport utility vehicle travelling at an excessive speed at the height of the Holy Spirit. They tried to intercept it on the road 125. The sole occupant, the driver refused to stop and fled, said sergeant Claude Denis of the SQ.

A police chase ensued on the highways 440 and 640, and it is ultimately up to Laval that the motorist has been stopped, at km 18.5 highway 25 South.

Moreover, the man, whose identity and age are not known, divested of several hunting weapons for his mare. They have all been recovered.
