The investigators of the major crimes of the Sûreté du Québec were sent to Saint-André-de-Restigouche, near the Matapédia, in the Gaspé, to try to unravel a possible murder that occurred in the middle of the forest, Tuesday afternoon.

According to initial information, a couple was walking on a trail in the side of the Road of the Small-Rank to 14: 30, a few kilometres from the village, when suddenly a shot was heard, reaching mortally the man, whose age and origin are not yet known.

“The victim collapsed on the ground and his death was recorded on the spot by the police,” says sergeant Claude Denis, stating that the woman was not injured. “The case is considered a suspicious death”, he added.

An individual who is considered as a “prime suspect” has been arrested in the area and was met on Tuesday night by police.
