The centre of pre-clearance from the us who was to be installed last fall at the Jean-Lesage airport in Quebec city, will not be finally fitted until the spring of 2019.
The authorities of the airport Jean-Lesage confirmed, Tuesday, that work will not begin this year.
The project of the centre for pre-clearance has obtained the support of Ottawa last December. Negotiations have been initiated with Transport Canada and the U.s. to determine the modalities of operation of the future centre.
However, after verification, the agreement that had been concluded in 2015 by the ex-minister of public Safety of Canada, the conservative Steven Blaney, clearly states that the costs of infrastructure and operations were to be defrayed by the canadian airports.
According to Mr. Blaney, the canadian airports were aware of these terms and conditions at the time of the agreement.
