An email address created by the government Couillard to share with the Quebecers on the “Policy statement of the Québec relations and canadian” has not generated enthusiasm, with only four emails were received in eight months, told QMI Agency.

On the 1st of June last, the government Couillard launched with great fanfare its policy statement entitled ” Québec, our way of being Canadian “, a reflection that would ” develop a contemporary vision of Québec’s place in canada as a whole “.

In the objective to “foster dialogue” with the Quebeckers and the Canadians on this thinking, the ministry of the executive Council has created the e-mail address DialogueQcCan@mce.gouv.qc.ca.

The address was listed on a letter sent to approximately 1000 players in the worlds of politics and academia, and published on the department’s web site.

Except that in 8 months, the e-mail address has received only four e-mails and will be used to send a single.

    Solicitation

Under the law on access to information, the QMI Agency has been able to lay hands on one of these e-mails. It was written by Michel Duquet, executive director of the historical Society of Canada, which proposes to the minister responsible for relations with canadian, Jean-Marc Fournier, to buy advertising in the next issue of its newsletter.

“Our members […] are very well placed to offer you their thoughts and maintain a dialogue on the vision of the government of Quebec,” wrote Mr. Duquet in his e-mail.

“I would encourage you, therefore, to acknowledge your recent publication in reserving an ad in the next issue of the Belletin of the CHS. See the order form in the attachment “, he adds.

    “Little publicized “

To explain the low use of this e-mail, the office of the minister Fournier has said it has not been known to the public that since the 4th of October, more than four months after the presentation of the policy. In addition, the address has been ” poorly advertised “.

“The vast majority of the correspondence and comments relating to the Policy statement have been received to the email address public by the minister or by regular mail, or through social networks […], in newspapers and on web sites in response to the publication of open letters or articles,” assured Gabrielle Had to, press attaché to the minister.

The office of Jean-Marc Fournier was keen to point out that the strategy “is going well” and that it elicited a “very positive” in the worlds of academia, policy and business.
