MONTREAL – several hundred persons are expected Saturday in Montreal, to denounce slavery in Libya, brought to light recently in a report by the u.s. tv channel CNN.
“In order to denounce this crime against humanity, the League of Blacks in Quebec, the associations and organizations of cultural communities invite Quebecers, all of the cultural communities and the authorities in canada and quebec to join them at the great gathering”, one can read on Facebook.
The start of the event, is scheduled at 12 p.m. at the park Toussaint l’ouverture.
According to CNN, migrants from countries subsahéliens trying to reach Europe via Libya have been intercepted and sold at auction in this country of North Africa.
