    MONTREAL airport Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau welcomed a record number of 18.2 million passengers in 2017, announced that the Airports of Montreal Monday.

    According to the manager of the airports of Montreal-Trudeau and Montréal-Mirabel airports, the traffic grew by 1.6 million passengers between 2016 and 2017, an increase of 9.5 %.

    The air traffic from the international has in particular experienced a significant increase of 13.5 %, while those from the United States increased 6.2 %. Domestic flights, for their part, have shown a growth of 7.6 %.

    Not surprisingly, the summer has been the busiest season at the airport with almost 5.5 million passengers in July, August and September, an increase of 10.3% compared to the same month in 2016. The other seasons have posted a passenger traffic varying between 4.1 and 4.5 million passengers.

    On the financial plan, Airport of Montreal has also concluded last year on a good note by recording a EBITDA (defined as the excess of revenue over expenses, before income taxes, financial expenses, depreciation and amortization of capital assets) of $ 281.9 million, an increase of $ 27.7 million, or 10.9% compared to 2016.
