Residence Oasis : investigation transferred to the unit of crimes against the person

The investigation regarding the fatal fire that occurred at the Residence Oasis was transferred to the unit of crimes against the person of the Sûreté du Québec.

The death of the lady of 94 years old died at the event is therefore classified as a homicide.

The latter succumbed to his wounds, then that it had tried to evacuate the residence for the elderly in the night from Saturday to Sunday.

A wanted man

Investigators are actively searching for a man who has been seen around the Residence Oasis before the fire suspicious and are trying to identify.

The man in question, considered by the police as a material witness, was filmed by a surveillance camera, between midnight and 2 am in the morning, near the Residence Oasis. Images have been released where we see a white man wearing a plaid shirt.

A command post has been erected on Monday by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) in front of the residence for the elderly in order to meet witnesses who had seen this individual or who may possess information.

A person who is arrested, and then released

Remember that the investigators Sunday arrested a man, 44 years old considered a suspect in this case. After having been questioned, however, it has been released.

According to the people interviewed by The Newspaper, he would be the person seen on the images of the SQ. The man would be struggling with issues of consumption. The Sûreté du Québec was not able to confirm or deny our information.
