ROSEMÈRE | A fire broke out in one of the buildings of the well-known spa Le finlandais, located on the boulevard Labelle Rosemère, in the night from Thursday to Friday.
According to preliminary information, the fire would have taken birth around 2: 40 p.m. in a pavilion in the spa, just opened.
“The main building was not affected,” said Pierre Verville, the owner of the spa, on the waves of LCN.
“It would be a start in the mechanical room of a new pavilion that was opened before Christmas, we had put $ 2 million renovation in this pavilion. We will temporarily close for a few weeks only. The basins have not been affected.”
Fifty firefighters were still present, early Friday morning to control the blaze.
The boulevard Curé-Labelle has been closed to traffic in both directions.
Second time in five years
In April 2013, the spa had been heavily damaged by a fire that had taken birth in the basement of the main building, in the laundry room of the welcome pavilion. The fire quickly spread to the entire building forcing the evacuation of the building which had been partly destroyed.
