    Victim there are a few days of a face-to-face on the Jacques-Cartier bridge caused by a driver under the influence of alcohol and drugs, a young woman from Varennes considers herself lucky to be still alive.

    “I blacked out. I woke up after the impact and my only wish was not to be paralyzed. […] People don’t understand why I’m not more banged up, ” says Justine Nesterenko, 19 years old, who comes out with both legs broken, a fractured arm and a mild head injury.

    In a state of shock, she realized that she still had the use of her legs feeling extreme pain all over his body.

    “I cried and I wondered what I was sort of there. There was someone next door who was trying to reassure me, ” continued the young woman, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in September with an arm in plaster.

    Justine would come back from visiting a friend in Montreal when she was hit on the driver’s side by a vehicle. She was riding in the middle lane of the Jacques-Cartier bridge and was about to change lanes to exit the bridge.

    “I’ve never seen that happen. It came out of nowhere and he had no right to go in the way of the centre. It has banged hard. It could have been worse, I could have been there to spend, ” she said.

    Justine Nesterenko says that the doctors believe that she suffered a combined impact speed of 140 km/h. She has had to be removed from his car using the jaws of life.

    However, according to the Sûreté du Québec, he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs. His licence has therefore been suspended.

    Consequences

    Although Justine Nesterenko did not want the driver who caused the accident, she hopes that it will not start.

    “To err is human, but I just hope that he will learn the consequences of his actions, she says. I hope that he is aware of all the evil it has caused me. It was really a huge lack of judgement to get behind the wheel. “

    Because of her injuries, the one that is normally barmaid at Montreal will not be able to work for at least two months. It will not be able to attend the Cégep Édouard-Montpetit in the humanities as expected.

    “My car is completely finished and I will not be able to walk. And, during this time, he was uninjured ! ” denounces the Varennoise.

    She hopes that he will be punished by the justice.
