    SHERBROOKE – The abbot Robert Jolicoeur passed away in the early afternoon on Thursday at the palliative care unit at Hotel-Dieu of Sherbrooke at the age of 69 years. He had suffered from a virulent cancer and was accompanied by his good friend of 45 years, father Alain Larochelle.

    In a press release of the archdiocese of Sherbrooke, bishop Luc Cyr has invited people to wear them in their prayers, to him who was able to inspire many people.

    Robert Jolicoeur was a priest since 1976. He has served for twenty years in the parishes of Saint-Charles-Garnier and Saint-Roch in the village of Rock Forest.

    The archdiocese of Sherbrooke, with the designated persons who will take charge of the funeral arrangements, details of which will be communicated on Monday. Everything will be done in consideration of last wishes of the abbot Robert Jolicoeur.
