TORONTO| The Toronto police service is looking for a man that would have locked a puppy in a sealed plastic bag, before throwing it in a garbage can in the mall.
In a press release issued Tuesday, police explained that the man would be presented to the shopping centre and Lawrence Square Plaza on July 11. On the spot, he would have thrown a bag in a trash can at the entrance of the building, before entering in the mall. He would have then spent a few moments on the spot, before leaving by the same door as he had taken to enter.
A little later, a passer-by heard the yelps from the trash. He was able to find the sac and free the puppy.
The animal, aged about three months, has been entrusted to the care of a veterinarian nearby.
The man could possibly face charges for animal cruelty.
