MONT-SAINT-HILAIRE | The body of a man was found Saturday in a wooded area located at the intersection of the paths Rouillard and Authier, at the foot of mont Saint-Hilaire, in the Montérégie region.

“The body bore signs of violence,” said Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), to which the Régie intermunicipale de police Richelieu Saint-Laurent was transferred to the survey.

Due to the marks of violence, the nature of which has not been specified, “the SQ takes for granted that it is a murder,” added Ms. Bilodeau, who was not able to say more on the victim, on Saturday evening.

This is a man who travelled by ATV who made the gruesome discovery and alerted the police.

The investigation Department on the crimes against the person of the SQ takes care of the folder. Investigators and forensic identification officers were still on place, Saturday night, and had to go back Sunday, at the break of day, to continue their work.
