In an email sent to its customers-holders of one of these vehicles, the american group has indicated that it will recall voluntarily 123 000 vehicles of the range Model S manufactured before April 2016.

Tesla explained to his clients that a phenomenon of excessive corrosion had been observed on the bolts of power steering in these models, but only in regions with very cold climates.

The group has, however, clarified that it had decided to recall all affected vehicles across the globe in a preventive manner, to perform repairs.

No accident was reported and no one was injured as a result of this phenomenon of corrosion, has added Tesla in this message, stating that the intervention on each of the vehicles is expected to last about an hour.

This new event is in addition to the questions already large around the group that was founded in 2003 and led by the charismatic entrepreneur of south african-born Elon Musk.

The NTSB, the regulator of transportation, u.s., on Tuesday launched an investigation following a fatal accident involving a Tesla in the city of Mountain View in California.

The survey was particularly interested in the system of Autopilot, the software that allows a number of manoeuvres without driver intervention.

In 2016, an american motorist had already died while he was driving a sedan Model S Tesla equipped with Autopilot.

Tesla is also experiencing production problems for the Model 3, its new vehicle entry supposed to open the way to mass production.

The rating agency Moody’s has decided this week to lower the financial strength rating of the group to “Caa1″ from ” B3 “in the past, while combining it with a “negative” outlook, suggesting that the credit rating agency envisages to further worsen in the medium term.

On Wall Street, the action Tesla has lost more than 20% in a month.
