Marie-Sol Saint-Onge has suffered a quadruple amputation six years ago after he contracted the flesh-eating bacteria.
“It takes us back, also, quickly in all this pandemonium that has been experienced, says Ms. St-Onge. It is with great empathy that I read this novel.”
The woman went back on her experience and challenging stages through which it had to pass.
“Right away, we think of acceptance, rehab, but I would say that before being made to accept what happens to us, it is necessary to live its sorrow,” she says. It is necessary to cry. There are also those who are going to live the anger. It seems to me that it is important to take the time for each step, show the more possible, for after that, fill it with love.”
Marie-Sol Saint-Onge had been hospitalized after being infected by a bacterium.
“I was put in a coma because the bacteria took up all the space in my body and I had difficulty breathing, she says. Immediately, I was on an artificial respirator. When I woke up a week later, I was still intubated, but I also had all four members of the necrosed after me. All damages have been made during this short period of time.”
She explains that she has had to live with the wounds for a month and a half before that her state of health allows him to take them off.
“It has a nice effect, if you will,” said the woman. In the sense that I really had the time to do my grieving, to realize that it would not return, that it was fatal.”
