SAINT-ANDRÉ-D’ARGENTEUIL – The center, which provides services to adult men with addiction problems, in the Laurentians, on Friday announced that its users will all be relocated over the next few weeks.
Despite funding from the government and the support of the Centre de santé et de services sociaux des Laurentides (CISSS), the administration has apparently failed to ensure financial sustainability. In a press release, the management of the centre Robert Piché-Elphège and the CISSS have referred to “various difficulties”, “a building dilapidated” and “heavy financial pressure” in order to justify this transfer.
For the chairman of the board of directors, Robert Piché, “this decision has not been easy to take.”
“Since we will not be able to continue our services well into the future, we have unfortunately come to the conclusion that we must direct our users to other resources in order to ensure the continuity of their therapy services.”
It is unknown the number of people in reintegration involved or the number of workers who could lose their jobs.
