One of the many sites of Montreal, at the intersection of rue Sherbrooke and Pie IX, finally comes to a close. The intersection was in the works for 2015, but the city of Montreal has just announced that the site was beautiful and well finalized.

For motorists, it is a relief. This site was considered as one of the most problematic of the city, as much because of the traffic, because of the dust raised in the neighborhood.

In addition to traffic, access to the botanical Garden has also been improved for pedestrians.

At its start, the site was expected to cost more than $15 million.

The spokesman of the City Jacques-Alain Lavallée did not want to disclose if the budget had been exceeded, indicating that “the City of Montreal will share the final costs when the contract will be closed with the supplier and to the satisfaction of the City”.

The planning for the BRT Service, the Rapid Bus, also continues its course, with a first leg of the 400 metres laid out on Pius IX. The project is expected to be completed by 2022, while it was to be placed in service in 2013.
