MONTREAL – Wanted for several months by the Montreal police, the fake deliveryman who allegedly defrauded nearly thirty of the merchants of the metropolis has been arrested.
The suspect, Sean Magna, has been pinned on Wednesday afternoon, in the area of Montreal West.
The alleged fraudster was always the same way to extract money from the traders.
“It is present in coffee and address to an employee of the institution, had explained the Montreal police in a press release issued a few months ago. It is a pretext to deliver an order of coffee. The man asks to be paid in cash before making the delivery. When an employee wants to confirm the order with their manager, the suspect simulates a call to the manager with her own phone. After this discussion simulated with the manager, he claimed to be heard with the latter in order to receive a lesser amount.”
Thanks to this, Sean Magna would have managed to rip off its victims for thousands of dollars.
Magna had also been arrested in 2009 for similar crimes. At the time, he had made more than 80 victims using the same modus operandi.
