The fugitive Pierre-Janet arrested in Montreal
The prisoner who had escaped from the Centre hospitalier Pierre-Janet (PJHC) of Gatineau in early has been arrested in the Montreal area.
The Sûreté du Québec said in a press release Thursday afternoon, David Harvey was arrested in the morning to 7:50 in Ville Saint-Laurent. These are officers of the Department of investigation of major crimes SQ Outaouais who made the arrest, in collaboration with the Police Department of the City of Montreal.
Sergeant Annie Thibodeau, spokesperson for the SQ, said he was not resisting arrest and that no one else has been arrested during the operation.
David Harvey, an inmate of the Hull detention center, took to their heels on December 3, while receiving care PJHC. The 22 year old had knocked the employee of the psychiatric hospital who was with him and had stolen his magnetic card to flee on foot.
“The 22 year old is currently interrogated and should appear (Friday) at the Gatineau courthouse with a charge of escape from lawful custody, particularly,” said the SQ.
Regarding the assault allegedly committed against an orderly PJHC of “the investigation is still ongoing,” said the Sergeant Thibodeau.
The man is accused of having committed with accomplices, two robberies in a home in L’Ange-Gardien and another in Piacenza in 2015.
