The young globe-trotter he who is in a hospital in Tanzania after being infected with the malaria is out of the coma, but remains very confused.

Emmanuel Gauthier is currently receiving dialysis treatment, which prevents immediate repatriation to Canada.

His family is considering the deal on the spot and bring it back in a commercial airplane surrounded by a canadian nurse, in order to reduce the costs and especially the risk.

After having paid 15 000 $ for the transfer to a hospital better suited, his family has paid $ 12,000 in overtime last night for his admission into a new hospital.

The young man was not insured and the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec does not cover this type of expense. The canadian embassy has been asked to help him.
