Unveiled at the Festival of Speed at Goodwood last June, the Porsche GT2 RS comes from breaking a record.

In fact, on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, she has completed a lap in 6 minutes and is 47.3 seconds. On the 20.6 kilometres of the track, the GT2 RS has managed to maintain an average speed of 184,11 km/h.

Frank-Steffen Walliser, vice-president of the division Motorsport of Porsche, said he was pleasantly surprised of this turn of the track, whereas the target had been set at 7 minutes and 5 seconds.

Above all, do not believe that it is a stroke of luck. The experiment was conducted with two different drivers (Lars Kern and Nick Tandy) as well as two vehicles separate.

Developing 700 horsepower, the Porsche GT2 RS accelerates up to 100 km/h in as little as 2.8 seconds. As to the maximum speed at which its six-cylinder biturbo engine can catapult it, it amounts to 340 km/h.

In addition to being the 911, the most powerful to date, it is also the fastest.

See below an extract of the GT2 RS that achieves this feat.
