SAINT-HYACINTHE | intermediate resources, accommodation of facilities intended for people in loss of autonomy, operated by the private sector, reached an agreement in principle with Quebec, announced the ARIHQ Wednesday.

Gathered Tuesday in Saint-Hyacinthe, the members of the Association of intermediate resources d’hébergement du Québec (ARIHQ) have approved the agreement-in-principle.

Last November, the ARIHQ had launched a media campaign to demand the reinvestment of $ 15 million annually in the network of intermediate resources. The ARIHQ he claimed in particular that the employees of the approximately 900 intermediate resources of Quebec earn between 11 and 13 dollars an hour, or ten dollars less than for an equivalent job in CHSDL.

In a press release, the president of the ARIHQ, Michel Clair, has called the agreement “a step towards the continuous improvement of the conditions of exercise of intermediate resources”.

“It was essential that the MSSS provides financial support that takes into account the added financial burden related to the increase in the minimum wage, recognize the special needs of the resources of 9 seats or less, provide a fund dedicated to the training of staff and, finally, that it increases the duration of specific agreements. These are important gains that we have made in relation to the initial offers tabled by the government,” added the director-general of the ARIHQ, Joanne Pratte.

The agreement between the intermediate resources and the government had expired since march 31, 2015. The Association has not disclosed the terms of the new agreement.
