    SOREL-TRACY | The funeral of the sailor Normand Gravel, struck fatally at the Sorel-Tracy–Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola, is celebrated this Saturday in Sorel-Tracy, in the Montérégie region.

    Family, friends and colleagues of the worker of the Société des traversiers (STQ), which was 57-year-old, are expected after 11 a.m. at salon S. James & Son, located on the rue Elizabeth, Sorel-Tracy.

    “The ferry “Lucien-L.,” on which the tragedy occurred will be withdrawn from service on the morning of 27 January to allow the crew to attend the funeral of their team-mate”, had warned the STQ. It is expected to resume service to 13 h of the side of Sorel-Tracy and then it will be adorned with a crown of flowers in honor of the worker.

    The 11 January, a motorist was struck and fatally wounded the worker after smashing a barrier, by embarking in the opposite direction on the ferry connecting Sorel-Tracy, in Montérégie, Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola, in Lanaudière.

    Normand Gravel, who lived in the region, was in the employment of the STQ for the past ten years.
