The map sun of Quebec, the people hanging around in their portfolio for the past 40 years changes look to increase its security.
Paler colors and black and white photo, the new card of the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ), with its sunset of the Abitibi became more of a driver’s license.
It is new trends in the field of id card, according to the spokesperson of the RAMQ, Caroline Dupont. The black and white photo, for example, allows for a better resolution.
As of Wednesday, the new cards will be sent to the first Quebecers who were waiting for their renewal. They will then be gradually replaced.
The new card will display an ink which changes colour from gold to green depending on the angle or the lighting. It will also include a burning touch and images visible only under ultraviolet rays, on the front and back.
Since the contract with the company that issued was due to mature this winter, the RAMQ has chosen to call on the services of the Société de l’assurance automobile.
Even if the goal is to make the card sun more secure and difficult to imitate, the fraud has never been a problem in the past, ensure Caroline Dupont.
Same sun
Despite the changes, it is still the same sunset photo taken in the Abitibi region of 40 years ago that serves as the background.
“It is more of a winter sun than summer,” says the spokesman, referring to pastel colors, which replace the dark orange and black.
“We have tried to keep the same colors, but it was impossible to reproduce the same yellow and orange with the new machine “, she says.
The change is disappointing for a lot Violaine Audet, the owner of the outfitting of the lake Faillon of Senneterre, in the Abitibi region, where the now famous shot was taken.
“It is a mythical landscape of Quebec […] All the world is coming to us to see the sunset of the health insurance card. We told all of our customers that they have a photo of the outfitter in their wallets, ” laments she.
The web site of your outfitting recalls that the photo was taken by a client keen on 24 July 1974. She was then found on the table in the drawing to the agency responsible for the advertising of the RAMQ at the time, through his brother.
Changes to the outfitter
“It’s going to have an impact on us “, is afraid of the owner.
“It was a trip to train five to six times per summer. We looked at it to make placemats with the picture of the card sun. It throws me to the ground. I am without a word. It’s going to have to change our plans, ” she said.
Ms. Audet also said that it has recently convinced Québec to cancel logging to protect the landscape.
In addition, Ms. Dupont clear to Quebecers that they must not discard their current card. It is still valid and essential to the obtaining of services until its next renewal.
