SHAWINIGAN La Mauricie – is invited into the conversation between Quebec and Montreal. The latest advertisement of the tourism Office of Quebec, who is reluctant to accept the invitation of Montreal, opens wide the door to Trois-Rivières.

“I would love that as we will see, but I am so busy, always embedded in 1000 cases. I propose to you something: if there was an appointment half-way”, is meant in the advertisement of tourism in the Old Capital. We then see the bonhomme Carnival who patiently waits at the Madrid 2.0, at Saint-Léonard-d’aston, in Centre-du-Québec.

But for Tourism in the Mauricie region, midway between Montreal and Quebec, there are also Three-Rivers, at least via highway 40. The association touristique régionale de la Mauricie did not hesitate, took the ball to the leap and is invited in to the conversation between the two most important cities of la Belle Province to reveal its charms.

“We spoke to the people of Quebec and Montreal by saying: if it tries to take a respite from your bustle, come see us, we will welcome you with open arms. The Mauricie in the winter is fantastic and, above all, she is next”, has started laughing, Catherine Cournoyer Tourisme Mauricie, whose offices are based in Shawinigan.

The Region draws its pin from the play. Last summer, the amphitheatre Cogeco has experienced an increase in ridership of 13 %, the Festivoix of 15 % and the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières 7 %.

The mayor of Trois-Rivières, Yves Lévesque, Montreal did certainly not that it would create this effect with its advertising. “Montreal has opened the door to Quebec, and Quebec and Montreal, have opened the door to Trois-Rivières. We are very happy with it and we took the opportunity.”

While stressing that he has nothing against the Madrid 2.0, Yves Lévesque reminds us that there is more than one activity to do in Trois-Rivières for the bonhomme Carnival, starting with The Nights polar, of which the 12th edition will be held on 17 and 24 February, 3 march.
