SAINT-BRUNO-DE-MONTARVILLE | municipalities of the South Shore are asking for the implementation of measures to improve the flow of traffic on highway 30.

A coalition of the newly formed request including the development of dedicated lanes for transit and carpooling.

With the holding of any large-scale projects such as the commissioning of the Network express metropolitan (REM) in the Champlain bridge axis, and recapitalization to come from the bridge-tunnel Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine, the members of the coalition fear that a congestion is most important which would slow down the economic growth of the region.

“We must act now, said the mayor of the urban agglomeration of Longueuil, Sylvie Parent, during a press briefing. We need immediate solutions to address the chronic congestion, both for the transport of persons as well as for the transport of goods.”

The coalition, which unites the Chamber of commerce and industry and elected officials of the South Shore, wants to send a message to the provincial government, a few months before the election.
