The nurse who has been arrested violently and unfairly last week by a police officer of Salt Lake City, Utah, says that the latter had an aggressive behavior from the beginning of the intervention.
Alex Wubbels, told CNN what happened when she was held to have denied that a police officer take a blood sample from an unconscious patient.
The violent arrest was filmed by the camera of another police officer. Since then, the police of Salt Lake City has apologized for the behavior of the detective Jeff Payne.
“I can’t speak for agent Payne, but I can say that I am held upright. I am held to what I believed to be right,” explained the nurse.
She says she followed the hospital policies and the law constitutional because of the patient, who was not a suspect, had not given his consent.
Ms. Wubbels argues that the police officer seemed aggressive from the start. “As a nurse, it is my job to assess a patient or a situation. My assessment has led me to deduce that the agent Payne was already agitated, it was already released berserk after I told him that he could not do that.”
The nurse said it was disappointed police officers of Salt Lake City, but also police officers, university and the department of public safety who provide security at the hospital, but that did nothing.
“I was afraid to die. I was obviously scared, and since this happened I think I can say that I feel betrayed by the police, by the security of the hospital,” added Ms. Wubbels.
The police department has confirmed that the detective Payne and another agent are suspended during the criminal investigation.
