    The former official of the national hockey League (NHL), Bruce Hood has died of prostate cancer Friday at the age of 81 years.

    It is he who was in post during the famous match of Friday against the Montreal canadiens to Quebec Nordiques.

    “For 21 seasons, Bruce Hood has brought professionalism and integrity to every match in which he has participated in and has gained the respect of players, coaches and general managers, explained NHL commissioner Gary Bettman by way of a press release.

    “In addition to good control of the matches, he was always calm and he was at his best when the pressure was at its maximum.”

    In total, Hood officiated 1033 matches of the regular season and 157 playoff.
