The teacher, Cégep de Rivière-du-Loup Benoit Dumais could see his students write of His ” will “, “hero” or ” die ” on the social networks. He has plastered the walls of the cegep of posters with rules of the French base, on a humorous tone.

His initiative, which has been reported in The Journal last week, then did the tour of the province and beyond, because of the francophone schools in Saskatchewan, New Brunswick and Ontario are now using.

This is without counting the dozens of colleges, secondary and primary schools in Quebec who have followed suit. Even companies have followed the trend.

“We said when we did this campaign that if we could disseminate it to the outside, this would be so much the better. With the radiation as it has been, you can’t ask for more, ” said Jeremie Bouchard, of the communications Department of the Cegep of Rivière-du-Loup.

    Applauded in class

The teacher has received dozens of e-mails from professors, retired professors, lovers of the French language and of representatives of school boards and cegeps, who were congratulating for his good idea. “We never thought we’d that there would be such a reaction “, he said.

Even his students cheered in the classroom in the aftermath of the great media coverage of the campaign for the promotion of the French language.

Requests come now from everywhere and more than 2000 people have visited the web page where it is possible to download the posters free of charge, an unusual number of visits to the website of the Cégep du Bas-Saint-Laurent.

When she created the posters, the communications team wanted to ensure that the initiative will be implemented, but was not expecting such an impact. “This is an exceptional impact to know that people associate the college of the importance of the quality of the French. The first goal was not recruitment, but if it garners interest, so much the better if it is converted into registrations, ” said Jeremie Bouchard.

He said he was however realistic in saying that the number one factor for choosing a college, it is the proximity. “But if we can get back the “brand” Cégep de Rivière-du-Loup in some heads, that’s a plus, ” he adds.

    Groupe Morneau

The transport company Groupe Morneau, based in the Bas-Saint-Laurent, has decided to post under his walls, posters of the college. “These illustrations are perfect tools to highlight the difficulties of the French language with humor and enable our employees to learn and improve,” pointed out Jimmy Lévesque, account director for Groupe Morneau.
