THREE-RIVERS, The owner of the Residence Wooded and Flowery at Three Rivers, says she is the victim of a campaign around. Three former employees are accusing the institution for elders to humiliate and mistreat the residents.

“We don’t want to do so close! We don’t want to hurt him and this is not a revenge! You just want things to change,” said Anne Fecteau, a former employee.

“I finished work at 9 am in the morning and I cried thinking of the residents who were so much mercy, and then I couldn’t do anything. I was helpless. Me, I would have gone to the emergency hospital, but it is not me who decides,” said the other former employee, Lorraine Lacerte.

The owner, Sylvain Dubeau, has categorically denied these allegations. He sent them a second formal notice to stop them from making comments he considers defamatory. A first had been filed in 2016 after they had criticized the residence on the social networks.

“It is a campaign of around! It was the residence for only two years. We love our residents and all the families we love them, too,” explained the owner.

“I have worked night, day and night, and for doing all the work shifts, I can tell you that [the claims] it is totally wrong,” pointed out Chloe Gilbert, an employee at the residence.

    The health authorities respond

The integrated Center for academic health and social services of Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec indicates that all complaints are confidential, but that the residence has been certified according to official standards in February 2017.

“The commissioner of complaints came in and they checked everything! Everything is in order,” added the owner.

The families of the current beneficiaries are shocked by the allegations. They consider that the care is excellent.

“It is a tissue of lies. I can tell you that my mother is very well. If it was all true what they say, it would make for a long time that my mother would not be here,” said the daughter of a recipient, Nicole Roberge.

Sylvain Dubeau has made a call to a lawyer. He said he is ready to file a complaint and bring the case before the courts.
