    TORONTO | The Toronto police appealed to the public to advance the investigation into an unsolved murder that occurred 18 years ago.

    Richard McEachern, 38 years old, had been found on his driver’s seat, injured by a bullet to the chest, in his Pontiac parisienne from 1977 on Yorkwoods Gard, on the night of January 31, 2000. Transported to the hospital, he had finally succumbed to his injuries.

    According to the investigators of the time, the man had left his work and was stopped in a convenience store to buy cigarettes, just before the tragedy.

    A witness had reported hearing a single gunshot and seeing three men flee the parking lot of the convenience store.
