Volkswagen has taken advantage of the opening of the auto Show in Detroit to unveil the new generation of the Jetta.

Adopting a new grille more impressive, the Jetta 2019 remains faithful to the look that she was already with the generation of outbound. Nothing really revolutionary.

Longer, wider and taller than the model it replaces, the new Jetta will be built from the modular platform MQB Volkswagen. This platform is used already in the development of other models such as the Golf and the Tiguan.

The consumption of gasoline has not been announced, but it should be slightly improved through the use of a new automatic transmission in eight reports. The versions equipped with this transmission will be all equipped with a series of a system of automatic stop when the vehicle comes to a stop, once again to promote a better energy performance.

For the purists, a six-speed manual gearbox will also be proposed. Finally, Volks get rid of the old transmission five-speed!

The Volkswagen Jetta 2019 is expected to arrive in dealerships during the second quarter of 2018. It has not yet announced its price in Canada, but we will sell from 18 545$ in the United States.
