LAVAL | The unionized employees of the factory of the Molson brewery of the rue Notre-Dame, in Montreal, have given a strike mandate on Sunday morning.
Gathered in a union meeting, they have rejected the latest offers of employers in a proportion of 52 % and voted for a strike at the right moment to the tune of 87 %. On the 11th of February, they had already rejected the offers of employers of the time in a proportion of 57 %.
It is of some 550 employees of Molson members of local 1999 of the Teamsters union working at the plant of the rue Notre-Dame, including bottling and delivery.
“The main issues at the negotiating table are the pension plan, group insurance, outsourcing and wages, said the union in a press release Sunday afternoon. The bargaining Committee wishes to resume the talks in the shortest possible time.”
For their part, the 175 merchandisers, agents, and employees of the service, telesales, Molson, who have a strike mandate adopted to 98.5 % in mid-December, are still in negotiation with the employer to renew their collective agreement.
