SAINT-PAUL-DE-L’ÎLE-AUX-NOIX | A 22 year old male with muscular dystrophy who has not taken his bath for over two months, could once again soak in as early as next week thanks to a good samaritan.
Richard Nadon has been touched by the story of Michael Daigle then he read our story in The Newspaper Wednesday morning.
Michael Daigle told us that he has not taken bath since April when her mother, Pierrette, injured her back attempting to bring her disabled son from 22 years in the water.
No choice
The 65 year-old man and his wife, Linda Juteau, then decided to give the lift rail that they store in their garage.
“We thought the sell, but when I saw the article on Wednesday, I had no other choice than to ask my wife what she thought of the offer to the family of the boy,” said the retired of the canadian armed Forces.
Ms. Daigle could have to wait up to five years before getting the grant necessary for the purchase of a lift, she had denounced.
The city is involved
In a few hours, the mayor of the village of Saint-Paul-de-l’île-aux-Noix, Montérégie, where lives the family Daigle had already heard with a construction contractor who agreed to install the lift rail offered by Mr. Nadon.
The latter will deliver the device on Tuesday that will improve the life of Michael Daigle. Mayor Claude Leroux, members of the Axim Constructions and the electrician of the City will be present to ensure the installation.
“We’re confident we can install the up-to-person, although the time before the construction holiday is relatively short, we will do our best “, adds the mayor of the municipality, which however, remains conservative in order not to create false hopes in the family.
Mr. Leroux has been made aware of the situation of Michael two days ago.
“It is certain that we investigate all the possibilities currently so that the boy could at least wash, I think that the family has suffered enough to date “, explains the mayor.
Claude Leroux has initiated discussions with the responsible of The Residence, The Yacht White for the son of Pierrette Daigle could take at least one bath per week, if ever the installation is not completed before Friday of next week.
Happy
Informed of the offer of Richard Nadon, Pierrette Daigle was in shock.
“I’m surprised, she initially responded. I am glad to think that Michael can soon take a bath. “
Marie-Eve Boudreault, the attendant at home, who takes care of the boy for two years, was pleased with the turn of events in the past 24 hours.
“During my work day with Michael, the campaign sociofinancement has increased more than 1000 $ within a few hours, it was mind blowing,” she says. I explained to Michael that there was not the money, but all the material resources that the people give, it helps us. “
