User Randall Jones published this logic problem about a year ago, but it still remains popular thanks to the three million users who are still fighting over her decision, reports Rus.Media.
Judging by the comments, the most popular answers — 40, 52 or 96.
But this problem, in fact, two correct decisions. Here they are:
1) add to the amount amount of the previous equation:
1 + 4 = 5
5 + 2 + 5 = 12
12 + 3 + 6 = 21
21 + 8 + 11 = 40
The missing number is 40.
2) Just multiply the two digits together and add to the amount received less of them.
1 + (4 x 1) = 5
2 + (5 x 2) = 12
3 + (6 x 3) = 21
8 + (11 x 8) = 96
The missing number will be 96.
It’s simple! And don’t ask how someone counted 52.
