By introducing the GR HV Sport Concept today, Toyota gives us a taste of what will be waiting for us at the next auto Show in Tokyo.

As you’ve no doubt noticed, it is fitted with a roof-type targa, which reminds us of the golden years of the
Supra. The more nostalgic among us will be more than served.

Under the hood, we find a combination of gasoline engine and electric. More details on this hybrid drive will be given out at his official unveiling.

However, we do know that the batteries have been positioned close to the centre of the car to ensure a balance of the masses.

The GR HV Sport Concept is equipped with a automatic transmission. However, you will be surprised to find that there is a lever similar to a car with manual transmission between the seats of the passenger and the driver. In fact, Toyota allows you to select your own reports without having to engage the help of a pedal. Roughly speaking, the usual paddles on the steering wheel have been swapped out for a lever.

This conceptual approach has LED headlights, aluminium wheels and a rear diffuser inspired by the race car TS050 Hybrid.

In its press release, Toyota makes no mention of the 86, formerly known as the Scion FR-S. Gold, this GR HV Sport Concept appears to be a straight derivative of the latter.
